Erdaogou Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Northeast Liaoning. The Erdaogou Fm was named by the No. 9 Party of Geology, Liaoning Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1986. The type locality is near Baijiajie Village, Dadianzi Township, Tieling County, Liaoning Province. Middle (3 of 6) formation of Shyatun Gr.

Lithology and Thickness
The Erdaogou Fm is dominated by spilite intercalated with minor banded carbonaceous slate. It is composed of vesicular and amygdaloidal spilite and spilite intercalated with banded carbonaceous slate, epidotized and silicified altered rock. The top consists of spilitic-tuffaceous slate and altered brecciated spilitic tuff. It is relative stable in lithological character, but changeable in thickness. It shows slight thickening trend from east to west. The formation, about 1000 m thick
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The base is in conformable contact with underlying Hutouling Fm.
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Shimen Fm
Regional extent
Northeast Liaoning. It distributed in the Fanhe drainage area, Liaoning Province.
